13TH ANNUAL STRONG KIDS TRIATHLON
Brought to you by Children’s Hospital Colorado
July 20 • 9am • Lafayette YMCA
Get ready for glory and giggles, fortitude and photo finishes, triumph and training wheels.
During the YMCA’s Annual Strong Kids Triathlon, young athletes ages 2 to 12 take on our kid-friendly course — swimming, pedaling and running through the finish line, where medals and victory dances await. While our triathletes will be challenged, the goal is fun. Racers will be organized by age, and distances will be age appropriate. Olympic and collegiate athletes will be on hand for high fives and support. Crowds will cheer, hugs will be given and snacks will be served. No experience is necessary, but smiles are required. Proceeds from the event will help families in need pay for Y programs.
Online registration closes Friday, July 19 at 5pm. We will accept in-person registration on race day (July 20) from 7:30-8:15am at our check-in table.
For Ages 2-12
Race times will be determined by age group: 2- to 5-year-olds will begin at 9am, and the other age groups will follow in heats.
- Members: $40
- Non-members: $50
Registration packet pick-up (includes map, t-shirt, race bib and parent wristband): Sunday, July 14, 9-11:30am, and Wednesday, July 17, 8:30am-7pm. We cannot guarantee shirt sizes. All shirts will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.

Children will race in heats determined by age groups. Each heat will cater to the skill of each child. Children will begin with lap(s) at the pool, continue with lap(s) on their bikes or trikes and finish with a run around the turf field.
During the swim portion, we will have lifeguards in the water and on deck. Racers who cannot swim or need help in the water will be assisted by lifeguards. Racers may use flotation devices (such as noodles, kick boards or floaties). Distance varies by wave.
